The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant plays a vital role in providing rehabilitative services to residents with mental, physical, emotional, or developmental impairments. As a key member of our rehabilitation team, you will work under the direction of occupational therapists to deliver high-quality care and support.
Key Responsibilities:- Comply with facility policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and respectful environment for residents and staff.
- Report any allegations of resident abuse or neglect to the Administrator or Director of Nursing immediately.
- Communicate effectively with residents, family members, visitors, and team members, treating everyone with dignity and respect.
- Maintain confidentiality of all resident and family information, adhering to our strict confidentiality policies.
- Attend work on time and as scheduled, ensuring a smooth operation of our rehabilitation services.
- Conduct general activity programs and supportive or maintenance programs, making recommendations to the supervising OTR for consideration.
- Collaborate with other personnel to ensure residents receive comprehensive care, communicating effectively with the OTR to make necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
- Accurately record treatments given and maintain all necessary paperwork, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Meet efficiency standards for delivering occupational therapy services, striving for excellence in every aspect of your work.
- Hold current registration with the American Occupational Therapy Certification Board (AOTCB) and a permanent or eligible COTA license to practice in the State of Florida through the Board of Medical Examiners.
- Meet recognized standards of professional education and qualifications, demonstrating a strong foundation in occupational therapy principles and practices.
- Possess basic computer skills, ensuring effective communication and documentation.
- Adhere to Company's Motor Vehicles policy, if required to operate a motor vehicle for business purposes.
- Speak, read, and write English fluently, ensuring clear communication with residents, staff, and other stakeholders.
- Assist in evacuating residents during emergency situations, demonstrating a commitment to resident safety and well-being.
- Perform essential position functions with or without reasonable accommodation, ensuring a safe and inclusive work environment.
