Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Cash Banker to join our team at Churchill Downs Louisiana Horseracing Co.

This role offers a competitive estimated salary of $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and location.

About the Job

As a Cash Banker, you will be responsible for safeguarding Main Bank assets and safekeeping funds. You will adhere to all company money handling policies and procedures, handle all cash transactions between department staff, maintain key control as custodian of sensitive keys through use of the Electronic Key Box (EKB), and perform other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safeguard Main Bank assets and safekeep funds
  • Adhere to all company money handling policies and procedures
  • Handle all cash transactions between department staff
  • Maintain key control as custodian of sensitive keys through use of the Electronic Key Box (EKB)
  • Verify video poker drop funds accepted into Main Bank accountability and verify all drop paperwork
  • Verify HRM drop funds accepted into Main Bank accountability and verify all drop paperwork
  • Empty SST machines, verify the funds and complete drop paperwork
  • Complete fill and draw transactions when cashiers need additional monies
  • Prepare revenue reports and video poker deposit during drops and verify mutuel deposits daily. Also prepare HRM paperwork from the drop
  • Control custody and issuances of various departmental impressed banks, if any (i.e. food, beverage, mutuel, admissions)
  • Verify cashier packets (revenue envelopes) from various bank custodians
  • Oversee funds levels and replenishment of the Glory, NRT and Player's Bank
  • Verify and help perform monthly inventory
  • Order office supplies and supplies for the parlor (food, beverages, toner, etc.)
  • Verify orders when received (forms, food, beverage, etc.)
  • Help prepare employee schedules
  • Perform related duties as assigned
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have a high school degree or GED required, three (3) years' experience in cash operations or banking operations; experience preferred. Additionally, you must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions, interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several variables, read, analyze and interpret common documentation, respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees, regulatory agencies or members of the staff, write and present information to management in a reasonable manner, and perform normal mathematical computations in regard to the implementation of current duties.

You must also be 21 years or older and have the ability to obtain a Racing License, Video Poker Permit and ABO Card.

Physical Demands

The physical demands of this role include constant wrist motion, sitting, hearing, and eye/hand coordination, frequent speaking, reading, writing, standing, walking, bending, and stooping, occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.

Work Environment

This role is based in an office/casino environment and requires exposure to smoke, bright lights, and noise at times. The work environment consists of very non-demanding surroundings with a low noise level.
