We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Custodian - Facilities Maintenance to join our team at the City of Fort Lupton. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, as well as performing various maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our buildings.
Key Responsibilities- Perform interior and exterior custodial duties, including cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining floors, walls, and other surfaces.
- Operate mechanical floor cleaners, vacuum and shampoo carpets, and perform other tasks as needed to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Remove waste and soiled linens from work areas and gather and dispose of trash and waste, some of which may contain hazardous materials.
- Clean and disinfect all fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows, doors, and walls, including those in kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms, locker rooms, and weight rooms.
- Restock supplies and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Perform minor maintenance repairs, such as unstopping toilets and sinks, and replacing burned-out light bulbs.
- May patch and paint walls and operate scissor lifts as needed.
- Assist in training and checking the work of other employees and maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- No prior experience required, but a willingness to learn and take on new challenges is essential.
- CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 25-50 pounds. The employee will be exposed to various environmental conditions, including temperature changes, wet conditions, and hazards from equipment and chemicals.
