Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team at Los Alamos Medical Center. As a key member of our care team, you will provide high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Administer medications, collect specimens, and provide clinical treatments as part of a comprehensive plan of care.
- Document patient care provided, ensuring accurate and timely recording of patient information.
- Monitor and communicate patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families as needed.
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluate patient learning needs and provide education to patients and families, taking into account age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Advocate for patients' physical and emotional well-being.
- Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
- Skills: Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision required. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS current upon hire. PALS/ENPC obtained within six months of hire or transfer into position. Newly graduated RNs must have current BLS to start. They must obtain ACLS and PALS/ENPC within six months from hire or transfer into position.
- Licenses: Current NM RN license or appropriate compact licensure.
