Medication Technician Job Description

Oakmont Senior Living is seeking a skilled Medication Technician to join our team. As a Medication Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by assisting with medication administration and providing direct personal care.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and distribute medication to residents in accordance with established nursing standards and company policies.
  • Coordinate medication services with residents, pharmacies, and physicians to ensure accurate and timely medication administration.
  • Order and track medication changes, refills, and deliveries with pharmacies to maintain accurate resident medication records.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential resident medication and care records.
  • Ensure a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests by following established safety standards.
  • Collaborate with co-workers and other departments to promote teamwork and excellent customer service.
Qualifications:
  • Prefer one year of experience assisting with medication at a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE).
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) is a plus.
  • Must be able to operate MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.) and possess excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong desire to work with the elderly and care for their needs.
  • Possess written and verbal skills to interact and communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, physicians, healthcare professionals, residents, and their families.
  • Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests.
