Job Summary

Chapman University is seeking a Temporary Part-Time Athletic Trainer to join our team. This is a non-exempt staff position scheduled to work up to 19 hours per week for a duration of up to nine months.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a certified athletic trainer for intercollegiate athletic and club teams, attending home and away games as assigned.
  • Assist and support the Director of Athletic Training and Sports Medicine with all supervisory and athletic event coverage.
  • Assist the Director of Athletic Training and Sports Medicine in the design and implementation of a comprehensive program of injury prevention and injury care.
  • Assist and support the Director of Athletic Training with record keeping and data entry, including medical clearance, injury, treatment, and medical referral documentation.
Requirements
  • BOC, Inc Certified Athletic Trainer, Current Emergency Cardiac Care Certification
  • Ability to interpret and apply university and athletic department rules and policies
  • Strong commitment to teamwork and customer service
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with students, coaches, supervisors, physicians, and others
Special Instructions to Applicants

This position requires maintaining current certification as an athletic trainer, through the BOC, Inc. and current certification in Emergency Cardiac Care. This position requires travel with teams to athletic competitions, including overnight and out of state trips. It requires flexibility in scheduling and evening and/or weekend hours. It may require providing own transportation to various sporting events. Satisfactory DMV check will be required in order to drive university vehicles.
