Plumbing and HVACR Instructor

We are seeking a skilled and experienced instructor to teach plumbing and HVACR courses in our adult education program. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the trade and be able to effectively communicate complex concepts to adult learners.

• Develop and deliver instructional activities that align with program objectives and academic standards.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to ensure students meet program requirements.
• Coordinate with employers to provide real-world experiences and opportunities for students.
• Prepare students for industry credential assessments.
• Assist with curriculum development, course scheduling, and program advisory committee meetings.

• 5 years of work experience in the field of plumbing and HVACR, or an associate's, bachelor's, or master's degree in a related field plus 3 years of work experience in the residential HVAC/R or maintenance industry.
• Prior teaching experience is preferred.
• Demonstrates a solid foundation in plumbing and HVACR, including knowledge of residential heating, heat pumps, and cooling systems, and metal duct fabrication.
• Holds or is able to obtain a valid Ohio State Board of Education Adult Education Permit.
• Maintains a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
• Able to successfully pass a BCI/FBI background check.
• Maintains compliance with drug-free workplace rules, Board policies, and other applicable procedures/guidelines.

• Appropriate placement on the Adult Education Intermittent/Hourly Salary Schedule based on education and experience.
• State Teachers Retirement System and Worker's Compensation offered.
• Additional benefits may be offered depending on hours worked, job classification, and placement on the Upper Valley Career Center Salary Schedule.

Job performance is evaluated according to policy provisions and contractual agreements adopted by the Upper Valley Career Center.
