Your Next Career Opportunity - Senior Manager, Structural Engineering

The primary role of this position is to lead and supervise the Structural Team, which comprises Engineers and Designers, while providing technical leadership and direction. This position is also accountable for coordinating the team's activities to meet the production and quality objectives established by management. The incumbent will have full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating technical assignments, ensuring adherence to standards and procedures, and recommending process enhancements. The Senior Manager, Structural Engineer plans approaches for team members on tasks involving non-standard engineering challenges.

What You Will Do - Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead, develop, and mentor Engineers and Designers for continuous improvement of engineering expertise, professional development, and career path planning.
  • Conduct analyses using hand calculations, tower analysis software, and other accepted methods.
  • Implement and adhere to Quality Control procedures.
  • Exercise technical responsibility required within areas of technical competence for sealing engineering work performed by the Structural team.
  • Generate necessary engineering reports, analyze the information, and make recommendations.
  • Provide reporting on the team's performance, in accordance with formats provided by management.
  • Drive to meet production goals for structural analysis as well as A&E drawings.
  • Provide leadership on projects and address structure-related inquiries from internal and external customers.
  • Design modifications for tower reinforcing, extensions, and foundations; collaborate with the designer staff in the development of modification drawings; verify the accuracy of modification drawings and ensure quality standards are maintained.
  • Work cross-functionally with peers and other departments to help minimize workflow issues or changes that would impact the team and provide guidance to the team on rules and regulations on technical matters pertaining to structural engineering.
  • Complete specialized engineering assignments requiring complex calculations.
  • Assist in the selection of new design and analysis tools.
  • Stay updated on new technical methods and developments in tower engineering.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to recruit, interview, select, hire, and employ a talented and diverse group of high-performing team members.
  • Provide oversight and direction to team members in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members, including overseeing new team member onboarding and providing career development planning and growth opportunities.
  • Empower team members to take ownership of their job and goals. Delegate responsibilities as needed and provide routine constructive feedback on performance.
  • Create a culture that aligns with the organization's focus on team member engagement and that reflects the organization's mission, vision, and values.
  • Lead team members using a performance management and development-focused approach to assist in goal setting, two-way feedback, and performance development planning.
  • Guide team members to meet the organization's expectations for productivity, quality, and goal accomplishment.
What You'll Need - Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field of study; Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, or a related field preferred;
    • and 5-10 years of experience in structural engineering.
    • and 3-5 years of experience in communication tower design and analysis.
Working knowledge of TIA/EIA-222 code and other relevant specifications required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • Licenses in at least 7 states, or the ability to obtain them within six months.
  • Other National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveyors certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and advanced proficiency working with Microsoft Office Suite software including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook.
