Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team at West Florida Medical Center Clinic PA. As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will work under the direction of an Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer occupational therapy treatments to patients, working under the direction of an Occupational Therapist.
  • Assist patients with daily living activities, such as pre-ambulation, transfer, ambulation, and daily living activities.
  • Observe patients during treatments and compile data on their responses to treatments and progress.
  • Fit patients for, adjust, and train them in the use and care of orthopedic braces, prostheses, and supportive devices.
  • Confer with members of the therapy staff and other health team members to exchange, discuss, and evaluate patient information for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment programs.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • State of Florida Occupational Therapy Assistant certification.
  • Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (CPR and AED) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong customer service skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with staff members at all levels of the organization in a cooperative, team-oriented manner.
  • Proficient in the use of English language, both written and verbal.
Work Environment

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent and constant interruptions. The successful candidate must be able to work extended hours to meet deadlines and participate in various assigned committees.
