Academic Neurointensivist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified Academic Neurointensivist to join our team at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, teaching medical students and residents, and contributing to scholarly activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Providing patient care in the intensive care unit, including leading primary intensive care teams and managing ventilator and general critical care issues
  • Teaching medical students, residents, and fellows in neurocritical care and related topics
  • Developing and conducting research in neurocritical care, with a focus on expanding and innovating in inpatient and limited outpatient TBI follow-up clinical care
  • Participating in university and public service, including serving on departmental and institutional committees
Requirements:
  • MD or MD/PhD degree and board certification/board eligibility in neurology with fellowship training in neurocritical care
  • Eligibility for licensure by the California Medical Board
  • Demonstrated capabilities for teaching, professional service, and/or research suitable to the HS Clinical Professor series
