  • Casual Role
  • 12-shifts per year required, 1-shift per quarter at a minimum
  • Variable shift lengths up to 10-hours day/evening
  • Skills in pediatrics and pediatric feeding are desired
Job Description

As a Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist, you will provide therapy to patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing impairments. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing each patient, as related to the therapy requested on physician referral and providing reassessments
  • Gathering data, including patient past and current health issues, systems review, selection of tests and measures to elicit additional information
  • Making clinical judgments based on examination and data gathered to generate an accurate therapy diagnosis
  • Predicting optimal level of improvement and amount of time needed to reach that level
  • Using reexamination to determine whether predicted outcomes and goals are reasonable and modifying as necessary
  • Involving patient and family in establishing goals of treatment
  • Designing, implementing, and modifying therapeutic interventions
  • Using re-examination to determine whether predicted outcomes are reasonable and modifying as necessary
  • Coordinating, communicating, documenting, and billing per program, regulatory, and professional standards
  • Accommodating selection of tests and measures and therapeutic interventions to the age of the patient or client
  • Making referrals to other practitioners as appropriate
  • Selecting and delegating appropriate tasks of the plan of care per professional guidelines
  • Supervising the therapeutic program and maintaining oversight of the plan of care
  • Promoting rehab services by ensuring patient and physician satisfaction
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Communication Disorders or Speech-Language Pathology
  • Licensed Speech Language Pathologist - MN Department of Health required if providing services in Minnesota upon hire
  • Licensed Speech Language Pathologist - WI Dept of Safety & Professional Services required if providing services in Wisconsin upon hire
  • BLS Tier - Basic Life Support - Multisource required within 60 Days
  • Valid Driver's License required upon hire - MN and WI residents must obtain a valid driver's license in their state of residence within 60 days of employment if providing services for Home Care and Hospice
