Position Summary: We are in search of a seasoned Configuration Manager to oversee Anduril's configuration management and change control processes for our Rocket Motor product line. This role presents the unique opportunity to establish and implement a digital engineering framework from the ground up, fostering top-tier capabilities in model-based engineering, digital factory design, and digital manufacturing. As a Configuration Manager, you will collaborate closely with key program leaders to navigate a fast-paced and dynamic design and engineering landscape. You will serve as the primary point of contact for establishing and documenting the baseline for a program's requirements, design, testing, manufacturing, and sustainment data structures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a vital partner to Anduril's Product and Program Teams by:
    • Defining comprehensive configuration management strategies for essential programs.
    • Ensuring robust configuration identification processes and documentation are in place.
    • Managing the complete configuration control lifecycle, including engineering releases and facilitating critical configuration control meetings.
    • Collaborating with Configuration Management Analysts to develop and maintain dashboards that track configuration status and ensure critical data is accurately captured and disseminated.
    • Coordinating configuration audits to validate compliance with established standards.
  • Oversee the change management process for key programs by:
    • Documenting, reviewing, approving, and communicating engineering change requests promptly.
    • Setting agendas for configuration management meetings in advance.
    • Generating and submitting change requests, including compiling impact analyses.
    • Implementing change notices and ensuring all associated activities are completed.
    • Providing insights into the effectiveness of the change process, including tracking costs and rework rates.
  • Lead critical configuration management activities by:
    • Organizing and managing configuration control forums, including scheduling and preparing materials.
    • Facilitating discussions during change control meetings and ensuring decisions are communicated effectively.
  • Ensure product configuration integrity by:
    • Analyzing product baselines for compliance with industry standards.
    • Supporting configuration management reviews and audits to prevent or resolve issues.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to implement engineering changes by:
    • Working with various teams to assess the impact of proposed design changes.
    • Conducting thorough impact assessments and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for Engineering Release and Change Management standards by:
    • Utilizing Teamcenter software to manage engineering changes and associated workflows.
    • Providing guidance to engineering teams on configuring bills of materials.
    • Developing training programs to ensure compliance with change management processes.
  • Contribute to the evolution of digital engineering at Anduril by:
    • Partnering with engineering teams to identify improvement opportunities.
    • Building a comprehensive digital thread that maintains accurate product definitions.
    • Mentoring configuration management analysts and leveraging AI tools to enhance efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of direct experience in product configuration management.
  • 5+ years of experience in high rigor environments such as aerospace or automotive.
  • Familiarity with configuration management principles and practices.
  • Experience with product lifecycle management tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of synthesizing complex data.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • BA/BS in an engineering discipline.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful resident.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the aerospace industry.
  • Proficient in technical writing.
  • Familiarity with Teamcenter and related tools.
  • Database skills with SQL.
  • Certification in configuration management.
