Your Role:
As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for capturing and processing medical digital images, positioning patients for examinations, transporting them, and offering routine assistance to the radiology team within a medical facility by executing the following tasks:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Acquire digital radiographic images as requested by healthcare providers using x-ray equipment.
2. Prepare patients for radiological procedures by positioning them appropriately, adjusting equipment settings, and ensuring optimal exposure factors.
3. Implement radiation safety measures to protect patients and staff, utilizing beam restriction devices, patient shielding, and a thorough understanding of exposure parameters.
4. Conduct quality checks and verify proper identification on images.
5. Prepare digital images for physician review.
6. Assist in transporting patients from radiologic diagnostic areas to examination rooms.
7. Upload images to patient records as required.
8. Create CDs for patients upon request, following proper release protocols.
9. Organize and file films, discs, and records as necessary.
10. Maintain a sanitized workstation by cleaning between patients and at the end of each shift.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited radiology program is mandatory.
- Licensed Radiologic Technologist in Massachusetts.
- ARRT Certification is required.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations, insurance policies, and other compliance standards.
- Knowledge of safety hazards and precautions to ensure a secure working environment.
- Understanding of medical office procedures, terminology, and professional etiquette.
- Experience with electronic medical record systems is advantageous, including platforms like Athena/Centricity and Medi-Tech.
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
Develop and sustain professional relationships with patients, medical personnel, colleagues, and the public by demonstrating empathy, tact, and understanding.
Must be a collaborative team member with a positive demeanor, capable of adapting to diverse personalities and working with a varied patient population while exhibiting patience and professionalism.
Encourage teamwork through cooperative efforts.
- Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures.
- Represent the clinic with professionalism.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all patient matters.
