Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Pharmacist-Inpatient Care Specialist to join our team at UPMC - Pittsburgh Medical Center.

Salary: The estimated annual salary for this position is around $143,000 - $173,000, based on national averages and location.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide safe, effective, and cost-effective pharmacotherapy to patients in an inpatient setting.
  • Support the medication-use process, participate in pharmacy operations, and provide education/training to healthcare professionals and students.
  • Review and maintain patient medication records, screen for allergies, drug interactions, and therapeutic duplications, and enter orders while verifying medications.
  • Adhere to regulatory requirements, professional standards of practice, and hospital quality management policies and procedures.
  • Communicate with physicians and nurses to clarify unclear or incomplete orders.
  • Prepare and dispense intravenous admixture solutions using aseptic technique.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy.
  • B.S in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
  • Current licensure as a Pharmacist in practicing state.
  • Entry level candidates with no previous experience required; pharmacist experience preferred.
