Job Title: Behavior Therapist

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Behavior Therapist to join our team at Dream Big Children's Center. As a Behavior Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing early intervention and ABA therapy to children with autism and related developmental disabilities.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a rapport and relationship with each assigned child and their family, implementing goals and behavior plans as developed by the BCBA and Behavior Consultant, and working collaboratively with the clinical team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement behavior therapy with children diagnosed with autism and related developmental disabilities and with their families as part of a clinical team.
  • Build relationships and make learning fun for each child.
  • Implement behavior plans and interventions as directed by the behavior consultant and BCBA.
  • Target skills goals as directed by the behavior consultant and clinical supervisor.
  • Work with parents on teaching skills goals.
  • Collect data on the child's behaviors and progress with goals as directed by the clinical supervisor.
  • Collaborate with the clinical team during team meetings.
  • Attend and participate in on-going trainings, in-service sessions, and other meetings as scheduled.
  • Log all hours worked, obtain signatures from authorized guardians, and submit timesheets on time.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment throughout the Center, including cleaning up areas upon completion of each session.
  • Responsible for leading group ABA.
  • Diaper changes when needed for certain clients.
  • Cleaning up activities/items used within each client's session throughout the center.
Qualifications:

We are looking for a candidate with a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED, and a Bachelor's degree in progress or completed in psychology or a related field from an accredited institution is preferred. Experience working with children with autism in an educational or therapy setting for at least 6 months is required. The successful candidate must also be comfortable with diaper changes and have a TB test and livescan clearance.

Working Conditions:

This position requires working in the client's homes, schools, and at Dream Big Children's Center. Some of these environments may not be controlled by the company, and the employee may experience uncomfortable temperature, disordered rooms, loudness, non-preferred smells, etc. However, the company will work with employees and clients to make the work environment as comfortable as possible.

Physical Requirements:

The successful candidate must be able to lift 20 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects up to 10 pounds. Frequent standing, walking, running, squatting, bending over, kneeling, and sitting on the floor are also required.
