Tree Crew/Groundsman

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Tree Crew/Groundsman to join our team at FreeState Electric Cooperative. As a key member of our right-of-way maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient clearance of trees and vegetation along our power lines.

• Perform all right-of-way activities from the ground level and from aerial lifts or rope and saddle on non-energized portions of the system.
• Trim and cut trees and vegetation to maintain a safe clearance around power lines.
• Apply chemicals under the direction of a foreman or designated supervisor.
• Assist in the training and direction of junior crew members.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) without an L or Z restriction required. Class A CDL preferred.
• General knowledge of clearing and trimming techniques used to clear right-of-way required.
• Certified as a Line Clearance Arborist preferred.
• At least one year of experience working in ROW clearance and around power lines and utilities required.

• Frequently exposed to high, precarious places, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, and risk of electrical hazards.
• Exposure to poison oak, ivy, and sumac is likely.
• Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles and vibration.
• Moderate noise level.
