Position Summary:

As a Registered Nurse at Cayuga Medical Center, you will play a vital role in a collaborative healthcare team, delivering compassionate and comprehensive care to our community. Our RNs are empowered to utilize their full scope of practice, engaging in the development and evaluation of care programs aimed at improving patient outcomes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients and their families, identifying needs that range from straightforward to complex. Utilize a patient-centered approach to develop and prioritize care plans that align with the needs of patients and their families.
  • Exhibit proficiency in executing necessary technical skills for patient care, while remaining updated on organizational policies and procedures. Serve as a resource for colleagues and foster collaboration among healthcare team members.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided, demonstrating critical thinking in clinical decision-making and ensuring compliance with documentation standards.
  • Embrace research and evidence-based practices in nursing, taking initiative in team responsibilities and care delivery.
  • Support colleagues in developing department-specific knowledge and skills, recognized as a resource for clinical practices and patient care standards.

Qualifications:

  • Licensure: Valid New York Nursing license; out-of-state nurses are encouraged to apply.
  • Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing required.
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (new hires may obtain these certifications during the introductory period).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.

Physical Demands:

  • Requires repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g., computer keyboard usage); may involve lifting and carrying light loads (up to 40 lbs) and performing tasks that require bending and kneeling.

Work Environment:

  • Onsite work required with minimal travel expectations.

Compensation:

  • Hourly pay range of $39.63 to $48.18.
