Sleep Disorder Specialist

Job Summary:

The Polysomnographic Technologist is a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) responsible for conducting sleep studies, sleep staging, and technical scoring of sleep events according to the AASM standards. This role works closely with the ambulatory supervisor, manager, and Chief Medical Director to ensure quality diagnostic and therapeutic services in the Sleep Lab. The RPSGT provides excellent patient experience by following policies, procedures, and protocols and hospital values.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct sleep studies, sleep staging, and technical scoring of sleep events according to the AASM standards

• Work closely with the ambulatory supervisor, manager, and Chief Medical Director to ensure quality diagnostic and therapeutic services in the Sleep Lab

• Provide excellent patient experience by following policies, procedures, and protocols and hospital values

• Conduct patient assessments to determine patient-specific needs

• Evaluate and treat sleep disorders, including polysomnography, extended EEG, MSLT/MWT, application and titration of oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, blood gas sampling and analysis, and patient/family education

• Assist in mentoring staff and orienting and supervising new sleep technicians

• Score and stage studies, calibrate and troubleshoot equipment problems, and support the implementation of new testing modalities

Requirements:

• GED or High School diploma

• RPSGT - Registered Polysomnographic Technologist - Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists

Work Schedule:

• 12-hour shifts (36 hours per week) rotating weekends and no holidays

Location:

Primary South Campus, Main Campus as needed
