Position: RF VoNR Engineer
Overview: High Tech Genesis Inc. is on the lookout for a proficient RF VoNR Engineer with a strong background in 5G Standalone (VoNR) technology and signaling processes. The successful candidate will possess a comprehensive knowledge of Layer 3 (L3) protocols and will be adept at troubleshooting and evaluating VoNR call flows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement a cloud-native Open-RAN network for 5G standalone.
- Enhance network performance through ongoing improvement initiatives.
- Utilize advanced analytics and visualization tools for network assessments and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) evaluations.
- Monitor market trends and assess competitive network strategies.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for network challenges, RAN features, and troubleshooting efforts.
- Lead projects from inception to execution, providing detailed recommendations for network and service enhancements.
- Collaborate with various teams to identify growth opportunities and ensure project success.
- Oversee vendor relationships and spearhead KPI optimization initiatives.
- Engage in the design and enhancement of both 5G NR and legacy networks.
- Recommend new site locations and optimize existing site parameters, including tilt and azimuth adjustments.
- Develop and maintain RF Design Specifications (RFDS), Customer Information Queries (CIQ), and relevant scripting.
- Offer insights and recommendations to refine overall network architecture and cell planning.
- Guide RF Engineers and Drive Testing teams to fulfill FCC coverage and capacity requirements.
- Create and modify routes in mapping software for FCC validation and generate KML files for GIS automation.
- Review testing protocols, routes, and validate outcomes.
- Conduct RF shaping and parameter modifications to enhance coverage and network efficiency.
- Evaluate cluster performance through drive test data and KPI monitoring to suggest improvements.
- Serve as the primary liaison for clients, providing regular updates and maintaining a presence in their office.
- Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports and recommendations to clients.
- Facilitate effective communication between clients and technical teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Manage project documentation, ensuring all deliverables align with client expectations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of experience with VoNR (5G SA) technology, focusing on signaling processes and Layer 3 (L3) concepts.
- Proficient in using Rad COM ACE tool for issue tracing and analyzing call flows.
- Expertise in protocol analysis and debugging, particularly with Samsung and Mavenir IMS Core protocols.
- Experience in RTT gap analysis across various streams, including one-way and inter-step RTT.
- Ability to investigate VoNR call drops, particularly under optimal RF conditions.
- Experience in resolving significant VoNR issues, including protocol discrepancies between core networks and OEMs.
- Hands-on experience in KPI analysis, specifically within the Nokia Core network.
- Understanding of 5G Core analysis.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related discipline.
- Strong foundation in RF engineering, with a focus on RF shaping and optimization.
- Proficient in analyzing RF performance and implementing adjustments to improve network quality.
- Experience with tools like X-CAP for drive test data analysis.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Prior experience in a client-facing role within the telecommunications sector.
- Able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.
- Experience working within established parameters and adhering to client guidelines.
- Willingness to be based in or relocate to Denver, CO, and maintain regular presence at the client's office.
- Knowledge of cloud ORAN-based wireless systems and familiarity with 5G technologies.
- Strong understanding of OSS and KPI monitoring tools.
