Nursing Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursing Director to join our team at Universal Health Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Chief Nursing Officer in monitoring and assessing facility-wide patient nursing care, ensuring that clinical nursing practice is based on established standards of care and nursing and hospital policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership and direction to Registered Nurses, LVNs, and Mental Health Workers.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of a philosophy, goals, and objectives for the nursing department.
- Support the Chief Nursing Officer with administrative tasks, including budget development and staff development planning.
- Assist in the establishment and maintenance of standards of care.
- Support the Chief Nursing Officer in planning and coordinating staff development.
- Assist in the responsibility for staffing all nursing service units.
- Support the Chief Nursing Officer in the responsibility for hiring, terminating, and discrepancy actions for all Nursing Service personnel.
- Assist in the interpretation and implementation of administrative policies and procedures.
- Attend hospital meetings and committees as required or requested.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements for this role include:
- Knowledge and understanding of all appropriate nursing and hospital administrative policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated strong leadership skills and organizational ability.
- Superior communication skills and flexibility to changing situations.
- Maintains awareness of professional image and demonstrates knowledge of principles of organizational, hospital, and fiscal management.
Education: Must have BSN; MSN preferred. Licensure/Certification: Current Texas RN license in State of Texas. Experience: Must have three (3) years experience in psychiatric nursing and administrative/supervisory experience. Physical Requirements: Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Ability to assist restraining patients. Vision and hearing must be correctable to normal range. Must be able to verbally communicate. Requires fine manipulation with both hands. Must have good physical condition and mobility and be able to lift at least 50 pounds. Hearing and vision sufficient to perform essential functions. Emotional stability necessary to perform essential functions. Must be able to speak clearly and write.
