Job Overview

AEDD is currently seeking a part-time Van Driver to provide safe transportation for adults with developmental disabilities. Candidates must be at least 21 years old. A thorough Motor Vehicle Record check, criminal background check, and drug screening will be conducted as part of the hiring process. Equal Opportunity Employer

Compensation: $13.00 per hour

Work Schedule: 6:00 AM - 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM - 5:30 PM (split shift)

Key Responsibilities

The Van Driver is responsible for ensuring the safety of consumers during transportation to and from the facility. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring the safety of consumers throughout the transportation process.
  • Maintaining daily sign-in sheets for each route, including the driver's name, date, and starting mileage.
  • Ensuring vehicles are fueled before or after transporting consumers.
  • Adhering to speed limits and stopping at all railroad crossings, while maintaining focus on the road without distractions.
  • Keeping vehicles clean and free of trash at all times.
  • Following all transportation policies and procedures specific to Adult Clinical Services.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Preferred: One year of experience driving a 15-passenger vehicle.
  • Required: CPR/First Aid certification and a valid Arkansas Driver's License.
Safety Considerations

This position is classified as safety-sensitive due to the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees must refrain from reporting to work or performing job duties while impaired by alcohol or drugs. Compliance with federal and state substance regulations is mandatory.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to:

  • Stand, walk, and use hands to handle objects or controls.
  • Reach with hands and arms, talk, hear, and smell.
  • Occasionally sit, climb, or balance.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.
