Job Summary

The Diagnostic Imaging Specialist will perform or assist in ultrasound examinations, provide technical assistance to Radiologists, and maintain ultrasound equipment. This role involves preparing patients, ensuring safety measures are followed, and capturing high-quality images for diagnosis. The candidate will also assist in training new personnel and ensure the smooth operation of ultrasound procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Examination Preparation: Prepare and examine patients for ultrasound exams following established protocols.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate and adjust ultrasound equipment while ensuring patient and staff safety.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Clean, maintain, and make minor adjustments to ultrasound equipment as needed.
  • Supply Management: Ensure an adequate supply of materials for procedures.
  • Training and Development: Assist in the orientation and mentoring of new ultrasound personnel.
  • Image Capture and Transfer: Capture and transfer images onto PACS for physician review.
  • Administrative Support: Answer phones, schedule exams, and initiate transportation as needed.
  • Additional Duties: Perform additional duties as required.
Requirements
  • Certification: Registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge of office practices.
  • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, and exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Education: ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification required.
