About the Clinic:
At the New Stockton VA Clinic, you will engage in a wide range of comprehensive ophthalmology practices. Your role will involve the clinical management of various conditions including Cornea, Glaucoma, and Retina disorders, making this a truly all-encompassing ophthalmology practice. Exceptional anterior segment surgical skills are essential.
Responsibilities:
You will have the chance to perform surgical procedures alongside experienced eye nurses in your own operating room, as well as participate in the training of residents. Your duties will encompass clinical care, resident supervision, and training in both outpatient and surgical settings.
Affiliations and Facilities:
We are affiliated with the UC Davis Hospital System, equipped with state-of-the-art operating rooms, and function as a modern full-service hospital. Our facility serves as the sub-specialty referral center for eye conditions in Northern California, providing dedicated technician support, on-site lasers, LenStar, optometry services, and an optical shop. Additional specialists in cornea, glaucoma, and retina/vitreous are also available on-site.
Work Schedule:
- Full-time, primarily day shift with home call or Mon-Fri 8a-4:30p; shared on-call responsibilities.
Benefits:
We offer 26 days of paid vacation (accrued at 1 day per pay period upon employment), 13 days of sick leave (accrued at 1/2 day per pay period with no cap), and 11 paid Federal holidays. Our compensation package includes a competitive salary, malpractice protection with tail coverage provided by the Federal government, and an annual Physician Performance Pay (up to $15,000 possible). Additionally, we provide 1 week of paid authorized absence for CME, and after one year of employment, a stipend of $1,000 per year toward CME if board certified. There are no significant restrictions on moonlighting.
Incentives:
The Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) offers up to $200,000 over 5 years, tax-free, along with a Recruitment Incentive with a minimum 3-year service obligation.
Candidate Requirements:
Applicants must meet the following criteria: 1) US Citizen or PRA, 2) Board Eligible/Certified in Ophthalmology, 3) Possess a full, unrestricted medical license in any State, and 4) confirm vaccination for seasonal influenza.
Compensation Information:
Annual salary range is competitive and commensurate with experience.
