Your Role:

As a Safety and Security Specialist, you will be tasked with ensuring the safety and security of the facility, its residents, and staff through various security measures. This includes executing security responsibilities within and around the facility, as well as during off-site transports and at external locations where residents are present. Your position demands keen attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to respond swiftly in high-pressure situations to safeguard all involved.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure facility security by monitoring and managing all communication and surveillance systems, intervening in disruptive or aggressive behaviors, and searching for prohibited items.
  • Oversee and transport residents during off-site appointments, managing vehicular traffic, and inspecting the facility's physical premises and grounds.
  • Assist healthcare personnel with direct services and care, observing resident behaviors and daily activities, and intervening in psychiatric emergencies as necessary.
  • Pursue professional development to maintain relevant knowledge for the role.
  • Deliver individualized care tailored to the age and developmental needs of each resident.
Qualifications & Requirements:

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent (i.e., GED).
  • Successful completion of the CCRS Security Officer Basic Training Program is required.

Experience

  • 2 years of security experience in a community or healthcare setting preferred; or 3+ years of experience working with psychiatric populations.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, complying with state laws regarding employment eligibility. No felony convictions or misdemeanors involving perjury or false statements, nor any dishonorable or undesirable discharges from the Armed Forces. Individuals with certain legal histories may be ineligible for employment.
  • Must have processed fingerprints on file with the employment agency.
  • Must pass a physical examination by a licensed physician as per company specifications.
  • Must demonstrate good moral character as determined by a background investigation.
  • Able to pass a Background Check and Drug Screen.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
