Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Comprehensive Assessments: Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to diagnose speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
  • Develop Individualized Treatment Plans: Create tailored treatment plans to address the specific needs of each patient.
  • Provide Therapy Services: Offer therapy services, including articulation, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing therapy.
  • Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Teams: Work with a team of healthcare professionals, including physicians, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and educators, to ensure coordinated care.
  • Monitor Patient Progress: Track patient progress, modify treatment plans as needed, and document all interventions and outcomes accurately.
  • Educate Patients and Families: Educate patients, families, and caregivers on strategies to enhance communication and swallowing abilities.
  • Stay Current with Industry Developments: Stay updated on the latest research, techniques, and advancements in the field of speech-language pathology.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology: Possess a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • State License or Eligibility: Hold a current state license or be eligible for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Illinois.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence: Possess a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) or be willing to obtain one.
  • Previous Experience: Have previous experience in a healthcare or educational setting.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to Work Independently: Be able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
