Job Title: Direct Support Professional

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team at Friendship Community Care. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to individuals with disabilities, enabling them to live independently and participate fully in their communities.

Job Summary:

The Direct Support Professional will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality support services, promoting the health, safety, and well-being of our clients. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others and contribute to the mission of Friendship Community Care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist clients with daily living skills, including personal care, meal preparation, and household management.
  • Provide transportation to and from appointments and activities, ensuring safe and reliable transportation.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client progress, including behavioral reports, incident reports, and compliance forms.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement client care plans, ensuring that treatment is carried out and good health, safety, and security are prioritized.
  • Follow proper medication management guidelines and assist in the monitoring and documentation of these procedures.
  • Organize and lead recreational activities for clients, promoting socialization and community engagement.
  • Model good role modeling for clients, adhering to our organization's dress code and demonstrating respect and dignity at all times.
  • Assist in the maintenance of our facilities and grounds, ensuring a clean, safe, and healthy environment.
  • Attend necessary training and continuing education to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; two+ years of experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation with state minimum liability insurance required.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively, with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds, with frequent standing, walking, and reaching.
