About the RoleMichigan Power Systems is seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional looking to advance their career in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and assist in planning new or modified installations to minimize waste and ensure compliance with local electrical codes.
- Set up job sites, direct and oversee a crew of 2-3, load/unload materials, and compile material lists from blueprints/schematics.
- Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit/cable tray, pulling wiring through conduit or laying cable in cable trays.
- Connect wiring to switch gears, junction boxes, lighting fixtures, and equipment, installing area lighting, ballast, and transformer maintenance.
- Assist with medium voltage troubleshooting and repairing motor controls.
- Install control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels, performing instrument installations.
- Connect power cables to equipment, such as electric motors, and install grounding leads.
- 2+ years of commercial experience as a Journeyman Electrician.
- Valid Journeyman's License for a minimum of 2 years or an apprentice card for a minimum of 4 years.
- Preferrably experienced with underground electrical installations and operating heavy-duty machinery: backhoe, skid steer, excavator, and other equipment.
- Able to travel within the Metro Detroit area.
- $65,000 - $85,000 per year (estimated salary range).
