Position Overview
The Senior Mechanical Technician at FLEXSYS America is responsible for a variety of mechanical and electrical instrumentation tasks, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards are met. The role encompasses a range of duties, including but not limited to:
- Mechanical Responsibilities: Execute general mechanical tasks, including construction, repairs, modifications, inspections, and troubleshooting of equipment.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform rebuilds to original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specifications, precision alignment, and repair of various machinery such as pumps, compressors, and hydraulic systems.
- Electrical and Instrumentation Duties: Conduct electrical work, including AC and DC applications, conduit installation, and instrument calibration.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrate a strong aptitude for troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems, including motor control circuits and variable frequency drives.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to electrical safety codes and process safety requirements, ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel.
- Documentation: Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for tracking maintenance activities and write standard operating procedures.
- Team Collaboration: Engage in hazard reviews and participate in environmental, safety, and health training programs.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates should possess the following:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance and construction of mechanical and electrical systems in an industrial setting.
- Journeyman certification or equivalent education and experience in mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation fields.
- Willingness to work a standard daylight shift with potential for overtime and emergency callouts.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Physical Requirements
Candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform physical tasks such as climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in confined spaces.
