Job Title: Library Specialist

The City of Peoria is seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Library Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our library staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing library collections, and developing programs for the community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide excellent customer service to patrons, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Manage library collections, including cataloging, processing, and maintaining materials.
  • Develop and implement programs for children and adults, including author talks, book clubs, and other community events.
  • Collaborate with library staff to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in the field of librarianship.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a library setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of library software and technology.
