Key Responsibilities- Machine Operation: Safely operate punching and cutting machines to create precise holes, slots, and patterns in sheet metal according to specifications and work orders.
- Setup and Calibration: Set up and calibrate cutting machines to achieve accurate and clean cuts on various sheet metal materials.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished parts for adherence to design specifications, including dimensions, tolerances, and surface finish.
- Maintenance and Cleaning: Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of punching and cutting machines to ensure optimal performance and prevent downtime.
- Material Handling: Load and unload sheet metal materials onto machines, ensuring proper alignment and secure placement.
- Organization and Communication: Organize and manage materials, including sorting and labeling parts as production needs. Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth workflow and resolve any issues that arise.
- Technical Skills: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine the correct punching and cutting requirements. Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify the accuracy of parts.
- Attention to Detail: Demonstrate attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift and move heavy materials and equipment. Capacity to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
