Perioperative and Recovery Excellence Team


Our Hospital Medicine division is seeking a dedicated and passionate physician to provide care within our innovative hospital-at-home initiative and our perioperative surgical home clinic.


As a member of this dynamic team, you will focus on delivering hospital-level medical expertise to patients in both home and surgical settings. You will gain specialized knowledge in perioperative medical care and telehealth services, ensuring that patients receive acute care without the need for overnight hospital stays.


Support from a dedicated medical director and clinical staff will be available to facilitate your success. You will also collaborate with a network of fellow hospitalists who share your commitment to patient-centered care.

Compensation Range:
$306,000 to $340,000 annually based on experience and performance with quality incentives.


_Perioperative Surgical Home Program Overview_

Program Summary:


The selected candidate will oversee preoperative risk evaluations and optimization for patients undergoing surgical procedures, ensuring they are in optimal condition for their operations.

This role requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to provide patient-centered care, enhance surgical outcomes, and improve the overall patient experience.


Key Responsibilities:

Preoperative Risk Assessment and Optimization:

  • Conduct thorough preoperative evaluations, including comprehensive medical histories and physical assessments.
  • Order and interpret essential diagnostic tests to ensure patients are in the best health prior to surgery.
  • Develop tailored preoperative care plans in conjunction with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals.

Risk Management:

  • Identify and manage medical conditions or risk factors that may impact surgical outcomes.
  • Implement strategies to mitigate surgical risks and complications, including optimizing chronic conditions and addressing acute issues.
  • Provide recommendations for preoperative enhancements, such as nutritional guidance, smoking cessation, and exercise plans.

  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a seamless preoperative experience.

The ideal candidate will deliver acute medical care to patients in their homes, ensuring they receive high-quality, hospital-level care in a familiar setting.

This role involves close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to manage various acute and chronic conditions, improve patient outcomes, and enhance patient satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities:

Patient Assessment and Care:

  • Conduct comprehensive initial assessments of patients referred to the Hospital at Home Care Program.
  • Develop and implement personalized care plans based on patient needs and medical history.
  • Provide acute care management for conditions typically requiring hospitalization.
  • Monitor patient progress through daily telehealth consultations and follow-up visits.
  • Adjust care plans as necessary based on patient responses and changes in condition.

Care Coordination:

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, physical therapists, and social workers, to deliver coordinated and comprehensive care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers to ensure understanding and adherence to care plans.

Qualifications

Requirements include:

  • Medical Degree
  • Completed ACGME Residency Training
  • Board Certification - American Board of Internal Medicine
  • ACLS, Washington State Medical License and DEA in good standing

Pay Range
$ $161.83 /hour
