Overview

UPMC Hamot is seeking dedicated Environmental Services Associates for full-time, part-time, and casual positions. We offer a variety of shifts that include rotating weekends and holidays.

Objective:

The primary responsibility is to maintain cleanliness in assigned areas, including patient rooms, public spaces, offices, and equipment, ensuring compliance with hospital and departmental standards to enhance the quality of care.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform cleaning duties in patient discharge rooms and on-call rooms as per established protocols.
  2. Inspect and verify that all designated areas are thoroughly cleaned and well-maintained, reporting any issues to the supervisor.
  3. Restock essential supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, and soap in all assigned locations.
  4. Execute cleaning tasks in all assigned areas, including patient rooms, public areas, restrooms, procedure rooms, offices, and equipment, adhering to established procedures.
  5. Ensure that all cleaning equipment is kept in good working order, reporting any malfunctions or suggestions to the supervisor.
  6. Remove waste from all assigned areas regularly.
  7. Comply with all safety and sanitation regulations.
  8. Assist in moving equipment, furniture, and boxes, as well as washing walls and spot-cleaning carpets as needed.

Qualifications:

Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions effectively to complete housekeeping tasks. Familiarity with using housekeeping equipment is essential. Note that during the course of duties, you may enter areas where medications are stored, but direct contact with medications is prohibited.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
