Job Title: Adjunct English Professor

South Florida Bible College & Theological Seminary invites applications for an Adjunct Professor qualified to teach undergraduate courses in English. This position is adjunct working on-campus only.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Professor to teach undergraduate courses in English. The successful candidate will have a strong background in English and composition, with experience teaching in a college setting.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach undergraduate courses in English, including Reading and Writing Essentials, Beginning College Writing, Composition I and II, and Literature.
  • Create an environment of learning through effective teaching skills and maintain a student-centered focus.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and encourage active learning.
  • Assess student outcomes in a timely manner through effective assessment and constructive feedback.
  • Perform lectures for campus courses and hold scheduled virtual course meetings for online courses.
  • Interact positively with diverse student populations and provide equal opportunities for learning.
Requirements:
  • Earned MA in English, Literature, or Composition and Rhetoric, or a master's degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in English, Communications, Creative Writing, Journalism, Linguistics, Rhetoric, or Composition.
  • Experience teaching composition and a strong background in English.
  • Ability to interact professionally and constructively with students and staff at all levels.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Earned Ph.D. in English with an emphasis in Composition and Rhetoric, plus experience teaching composition.
