Meat Cutter Apprentice

We are seeking a skilled Meat Cutter Apprentice to join our team at SpartanNash. As a Meat Cutter Apprentice, you will be responsible for cutting and preparing various types of meats to meet the highest quality standards.

• Cut and trim meats to precise specifications
• Prepare value-added products according to established guidelines
• Operate department scales to accurately weigh and price products
• Rotate and merchandise shelves, cases, and displays to maintain a clean and attractive store environment
• Assist with receiving, unloading, and stocking merchandise
• Provide exceptional customer service and engage in suggestive selling techniques
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all PPE and safety guidelines

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• One year of retail or related experience preferred
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents
• Basic mathematical skills and attention to detail

The physical demands of this role include standing and walking for extended periods, lifting up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally. The associate may be required to bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently.
