We are seeking a skilled Weekend Overnights Community Health Nurse Leader to join our team at Levindale Hospital. This full-time position involves working night shifts from 7:00pm-7:30am, requiring a commitment to provide exceptional patient care.
About the Brain Health UnitThe Brain Health Unit (BHU) is a part of the specialty hospital at Levindale, with two units and a total bed capacity of 60. Our unit provides a safe environment for older patients with neurocognitive disorders and medical co-morbidities, with an average length of stay between 20-25 days.
As a Weekend Overnights Community Health Nurse Leader, you will be responsible for assessing, implementing medication management, and developing a plan of care that maximizes quality of life for our patients. You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless coordination of care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide safe, age-appropriate patient care and function as advisor, resource, and leader for other members of the patient care team.
- Meet all key functions of the RN by providing and demonstrating clinical expertise in the appropriate timeframe using the nursing process, ensuring standards of care are met.
- Assist in providing overall direction and coordination of unit operations.
- Mentor and role model best practices, policies, procedures, and standards.
- Assist staff in developing and implementing patient teaching plans.
- In collaboration with the Education Resource Center, identify unit-based educational opportunities.
- Collaborate with organizational leadership to maintain patient throughput that aligns with best practices surrounding admission, transfer, and discharge to/from the unit.
- Assist in effective management of human and material resources.
We offer a competitive salary range of $95,000-$110,000 per year, based on experience, to support your career growth. Additionally, we provide comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement savings, and paid time off.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A current RN license in the state of Maryland.
- ACLS certification for application to telemetry.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
