Position Overview

We are in search of skilled Geotechnical Engineers to enhance our vibrant team. In the role of Geotechnical Engineer at HDR, you will be instrumental in the design and execution of geotechnical engineering initiatives within the Dams, Levees, and Civil Works domain. This role provides the chance to engage in a range of complex projects and work alongside talented professionals in the industry.

Key Duties:
  • Formulate geotechnical engineering designs, plans, and specifications for diverse projects
  • Perform geotechnical assessments and studies, including slope stability and soil evaluations
  • Examine design and construction submissions for adherence to codes and standards
  • Effectively communicate with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Draft proposals, reports, and technical recommendations
  • Guide and mentor junior staff members as required
Qualifications

Essential:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related discipline
  • At least 5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to secure one within 12 months
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities
  • Familiarity with structural design methodologies and regulations
Desirable:
  • Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering
  • Experience with dams, levees, and hydraulic structures
  • Active involvement in professional organizations
  • Proficiency in geotechnical software and design applications
