Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Food Preparation Associate - Oyster Shucker to join our culinary team at Omni La Mansion del Rio. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and storing food items to specifications, ensuring high-quality dishes are served to our guests.

Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation: Prepare salads, appetizers, and other food items for guests, adhering to our high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Quality Control: Monitor and maintain the quality and consistency of all food served, ensuring that every dish meets our culinary standards.
  • Station Management: Set up and maintain your station 15 minutes prior to service, ensuring that all necessary supplies are available and in good condition.
  • Inventory Management: Manage food supplies and inventory, ensuring that we have the necessary ingredients and materials to meet our service demands.
  • Menu Knowledge: Familiarize yourself with all menu items produced by your assigned station, ensuring that you can prepare and present dishes to our guests' expectations.
  • Kitchen Sanitation: Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment, adhering to health department guidelines and our company's high standards.
  • Time Management: Perform work assignments efficiently, meeting the required quantities and deadlines to ensure seamless service.
  • Food Safety: Maintain safe food handling procedures at all times, ensuring that our guests receive safe and healthy food.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Basic prep cook experience and some restaurant/hotel experience are required.
  • Skills: Basic knife skills, food identification, and the ability to stand for 8+ hours per day are essential.
  • Certifications: An unexpired Food Handlers certification is required.
  • Scheduling: Flexible scheduling to include nights, weekends, and holidays is necessary.
