Position Overview

We are in search of *Overnight Staff* to oversee girls in a residential setting.

This role involves ensuring the girls receive adequate rest by conducting regular bed checks, comforting them during nighttime disturbances, and ensuring their safety throughout the night.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, protect, and care for children at all times, both individually and in groups, in accordance with standards established by Community Care Licensing.
  • Maintain alertness and stay awake throughout the shift.
  • Conduct regular bed checks at intervals of 5 to 15 minutes.
  • Ensure a safe and clean environment by performing necessary quality assurance checks and documenting findings accurately and promptly.
  • Upon starting each shift, review client logs and staff communication logs, regularly check and respond to internal emails, and stay informed about training updates and other relevant information.
  • Assist each youth in group dynamics and in addressing individual challenges.
  • Implement appropriate disciplinary measures and establish behavioral limits.
  • Instruct youths in independent living skills, including punctuality, personal hygiene, and responsibilities such as making beds and tidying up.
  • Ensure timely and accurate administration and documentation of medications.
  • If a girl requires medical attention, you may be responsible for transporting her to urgent care or the emergency room.
  • Maintain thorough records and reports daily, including intake information, personal logs, treatment notes, staff communication logs, incident reports, and runaway reports.
  • Ensure all clients are well-groomed and appropriately dressed at all times.
  • Keep house and vehicle keys secure and out of clients' reach, ensuring clients do not access restricted areas and that items such as sharp objects, medications, and hygiene products are stored safely.
  • Meet all training requirements as mandated by the agency.
  • Attend mandatory weekly treatment team meetings, typically scheduled for Wednesday mornings.
  • Exhibit flexibility to work at any facility and adapt to a variable schedule as agency needs arise, including availability for holiday shifts.
Qualifications

  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a licensed driver.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must pass a criminal background check as determined by California's Caregiver Background Check Bureau.
  • Ability to remain awake and alert throughout the duration of the shift.

Compensation:
Starting at $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36.5 – 40 per week
