Position Summary
We are in search of a proficient and meticulous Lead Cost Estimator with significant expertise in commercial roofing initiatives. The successful candidate will demonstrate a solid history of accurately evaluating project expenses, formulating detailed estimates, and possessing outstanding communication and organizational capabilities, alongside a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities
· Execute precise take-offs and comprehensive estimates utilizing EDGE software for commercial roofing initiatives, encompassing labor, materials, and overhead expenses. Scrutinize project drawings, specifications, and supplementary documentation to ascertain project necessities.
· Perform extensive site evaluations and assessments to collect data and comprehend project scope. Recognize potential risks and challenges, integrating them into the proposal.
· Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and guarantee timely material delivery. Assess and select vendors based on cost, quality, and dependability.
· Maintain and oversee all bid documentation, including plans, specifications, and addendums.
· Formulate and present competitive bids for commercial roofing projects. Communicate estimates to clients, address any inquiries or concerns, and negotiate terms as necessary.
· Supervise project budgets and expenditures throughout the project lifecycle. Identify cost-saving opportunities and propose adjustments to adhere to budget constraints.
· Work in conjunction with the project management team and other stakeholders to ensure coherence on project scope, budget, and timeline. Provide support and direction throughout the project to resolve any cost-related challenges.
Qualifications
· A minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Cost Estimator in the commercial roofing sector.
· Demonstrated success in estimating and managing large-scale commercial roofing projects.
· Strong comprehension of roofing materials, installation techniques, and industry benchmarks.
· Proficient in estimating software (familiarity with EDGE estimating software is advantageous).
· Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred. Relevant certifications and training in roofing estimation are beneficial.
· Exceptional analytical and mathematical abilities with the capacity to interpret intricate technical documents and plans.
· Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
· Detail-oriented with an emphasis on precision and quality in all facets of estimating and cost management.
· Capability to identify potential challenges and devise effective solutions to ensure project success.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other pertinent software applications.
