We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional customer service, comprehensive design support, and unmatched product knowledge to ensure the success of projects across the Northeastern United States.

As the Lead Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for managing all phases of precast concrete product innovation, guaranteeing quality from the initial design stage through to client approval. This position requires robust leadership skills, extensive technical knowledge, and a dedication to maintaining high standards of quality control and client satisfaction. You will collaborate closely with executive leadership, operational teams, manufacturing units, and sales departments to foster a seamless and productive workflow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct design calculations, create detailed drawings, develop specifications, perform design analyses, and prepare construction cost estimates.
  • Engage with architects, designers, and contractors to facilitate the design and execution of projects.
  • Continuously enhance Lakelands' drafting standards, including the selection and implementation of advanced technologies.
  • Review all project drawings to ensure adherence to standards and clarity for production.
  • Regularly assess the stock product catalog for relevance and design optimization.
  • Oversee outsourced engineering partners to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Champion industry certifications and propose new certification avenues to support business expansion.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies, such as NYS DOT and NPCA.
  • Maintain professional and technical expertise by participating in educational workshops, reviewing industry publications, and engaging with professional organizations.
  • Prepare and deliver product presentations to the engineering community.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Supervisory Duties

  • Recruit, train, and oversee engineering team members.
  • Provide constructive feedback regularly to foster the professional growth of team members.

Travel Requirements: Occasional travel to client sites, project locations, and industry conferences may be necessary.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in design, construction, or manufacturing settings.
  • Experience managing large-scale projects, including interactions with municipal, state, and private sector clients.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks for creating engineered shop drawings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Possession of a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
