We are seeking a Per Diem School Social Worker to join our School Social Services Department in Newark, NJ.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will provide social work services to students in Catholic schools and nonpublic schools in Bergen, Essex, Hudson, and Union counties. This includes screening and assessment, individual and group counseling, consultation with parents and school staff, and documentation and reporting.

Responsibilities
  • Screen and assess students to identify social and emotional needs
  • Provide individual and group counseling to students
  • Consult with parents and school staff to develop and implement plans to support students
  • Develop and implement workshops for students, teachers, and parents
  • Document and report on student progress and services provided
  • Attend meetings and trainings as required
Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must have a Master's Degree and NJDOE School Social Worker/School Counselor certification. LSW or LCSW is preferred, and one year of post-master's experience working as a school social worker is preferred.
