Job Summary:

The Tennessee Board of Regents is seeking a highly qualified Clinical Adjunct Instructor to join our team. As a Clinical Adjunct Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching and supervising nursing students in on-campus classroom/lab and off-campus clinical settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a commitment to student success and provide a supportive learning environment.
  • Teach skills appropriate to the occupational area that will prepare students to become an economic asset.
  • Guide students in selection, perception, and performance of suitable learning activities.
  • Organize class time effectively and efficiently to ensure learning activities can be accomplished.
  • Supervise student conduct to ensure a safe and orderly environment conducive to productivity.
  • Maintain a well-organized, safe, and clean clinic and/or classroom.
  • Advise students of the importance of safety in relation to machinery, tools, and equipment.
  • Investigate and report on accidents in a timely manner.
  • Be responsible for equipment, tools, and supplies assigned to the clinic and/or classroom.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance and competencies acquired during enrollment.
  • Evaluate student progress and complete permanent records.
  • Assist in follow-up evaluations of graduates and their programs.
  • Attend and participate in various school functions as assigned.
  • Meet deadlines for mandated training.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree in nursing.
  • Active license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Tennessee.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of full-time experience in the nursing field within the last 5 years.
  • Minimum of three (3) years current clinical nursing experience.
  • High level skills in oral and written communication.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work with others.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Ability to deal tactfully with students, public, and co-workers.
  • Possess a valid TN driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior teaching experience, especially in a postsecondary setting.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited institution.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

The position requires walking, climbing, bending, and stooping. Work is performed in office, testing center, and classroom environments. Position requires the use of a computer.
