Paramedic - AHN Emergency Services - Canonsburg General Hospital

As a Paramedic with Highmark Health, you will provide emergency medical care to patients in the pre-hospital environment. You will effectively communicate with all persons and departments involved in the administration of Emergency Medical Care. This role requires a high level of skill and expertise in providing basic and advanced life support to critically ill and injured patients.
Responsibilities
• Drive emergency or response vehicle (20% of time)
• Determine nature and extent of illness or injury; provide basic and advanced life support to critically ill and injured patients during treatment and transport in the pre-hospital setting (50% of time)
• Complete required documentation according to regulatory standards (15% of time)
• Maintain equipment and inventory of supplies, including BLS and ALS, and have accountability for medications on every EMS unit per regulatory standards (15% of time)
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 5 years' relevant experience and current preceptor status for Prehospital Response Unit
• Medical Command eligible
• PA certification as Paramedic or licensed PHRN
• Valid Driver's License
• EMSVO within 30 days of hire
• ACLS within 30 days of hire
• ITLS/PHTLS within 2 months of hire
• PALS within 30 days of hire
• CPR – American Heart Association
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
Preferred Qualifications
• Basic Vehicle Rescue Awareness, Haz-Mat Technician. ICS 100, 200 and IS 700, 800, ABLS and ASLS
• One year experience (AHN EMS)
