Overview

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing project teams to ensure effective project delivery. This role encompasses all phases of a project, from initial planning to final execution. Key responsibilities include strategic planning, resource allocation, risk assessment, budget management, safety protocols, stakeholder engagement, and team development. Additionally, this position collaborates with commercial development teams to identify and support future project opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Directs and coordinates integrated Design-Build (DB) and Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) teams throughout the project lifecycle, including the pursuit phase.
  • Provides leadership and oversight for engineering design and construction activities, ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Manages the primary contract, construction subcontracts, and procurement orders.
  • Ensures compliance with health, safety, and quality assurance/control plans specific to the project and client requirements.
  • Plans, executes, and reports on overall project performance for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintains direct communication with clients to ensure satisfaction and effective coordination of project activities.
  • Identifies and resolves potential disputes proactively.
  • Supervises Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers, coordinating with Construction Managers and project controls to foster a collaborative team environment.
  • Oversees Requests for Information and conducts value engineering and constructability assessments.
  • Develops procurement status reports in collaboration with engineering, procurement, scheduling, and estimating teams, defining work segregation by subcontract and purchase order packages.
  • Reviews and approves subcontractor and supplier scope, pricing, and scheduling documentation.
  • Coordinates local bidding efforts with procurement teams.
  • Monitors project schedules and ensures timely progress payments.
  • Prepares and presents monthly reports on project progress, budget forecasts, and schedule management.
  • Conducts project close-out activities, warranty administration, and post-construction cost reviews.
  • Facilitates positive relationships among project stakeholders, acting as a liaison between various departments.
  • Mentors and develops junior staff members.
  • Identifies and implements process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs across business units.
  • Leads cross-functional teams to successfully complete major projects across diverse service areas.
  • Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Over 10 years of experience in Construction Project Management, particularly with DB/EPC projects in the power delivery sector.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used in transmission, distribution, and substation projects.
  • Proficient in engineering, design, construction, and contracting methodologies, as well as project planning and management tasks.

Travel Requirements

Willingness to travel as needed, potentially up to 75% of the time based on project demands.
