Job Summary:

As a Radiology Technologist at Advocate Health, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate individual to join our pool of radiology technologists.

Key Responsibilities:

• Competently perform basic and intermediate radiographic procedures, including general diagnostic and fluoroscopic exams.
• Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, and confirm their understanding.
• Position patients and select exposure factors for various radiologic examinations, ensuring patient safety and radiation protection.
• Identify patients, label images, and process exams to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Collaborate with radiologists, communicate, and consult to ensure seamless patient care.
• Maintain accurate records and enter patient information into the radiology information system.

Requirements:

• Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
• Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
• Advanced training beyond high school in Radiologic Technology from an accredited or approved program.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Competent in radiology positioning and techniques.
• Knowledge of basic radiation safety and radiology equipment.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Intermediate computer skills.

Working Conditions:

• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently throughout the workday.
• Must be able to stand/walk for the majority of the day.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs. over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.
• Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
• May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards, as well as blood and body fluids.
• Must have clear speech, vision, and hearing.
• Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
