The Medication Administration Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of medications to residents. This position operates under the guidance of a licensed nursing professional and requires adherence to established protocols and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer prescribed medications to residents in accordance with healthcare provider instructions.
  • Ensure the accuracy, safety, and timeliness of medication dispensing.
  • Monitor residents for any adverse reactions or side effects, promptly reporting findings to the supervising nurse.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of medication administration and resident responses within the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Assist in the ordering and receipt of medications as directed by the licensed nursing staff.
  • Support medication inventory management and assist in reordering processes.
  • Engage with residents, their families, and healthcare professionals regarding medication administration and any changes in treatment plans.
  • Provide general assistance to nursing staff as required.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a current L1MA Certification in the state of practice.
