Position Summary

The Radiologic Imaging Specialist is responsible for operating advanced imaging equipment to capture diagnostic images of the human body as per the directives of the attending physician, adhering to established protocols. This role requires expertise in patient positioning and equipment setup to ensure optimal imaging results.

The specialist will utilize Computed Tomography (CT) technology to perform scans, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process. Responsibilities include administering contrast agents, monitoring for adverse reactions, and maintaining accurate patient records. Our primary focus is to uphold patient safety and satisfaction while delivering high-quality diagnostic images.

Key Responsibilities

  • Stay informed about departmental policies and operational procedures.
  • Assist in the upkeep of imaging equipment, including routine cleaning and quality assurance.
  • Communicate effectively with patients regarding the benefits and risks associated with imaging procedures.
  • Prepare patients for examinations, including necessary contrast administration and IV placements.
  • Facilitate departmental workflows by completing required documentation related to imaging procedures.
  • Implement safety measures to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff.
  • Maintain current knowledge of radiologic and CT procedures.
  • Demonstrate a foundational understanding of human anatomy and physiology relevant to imaging practices.
  • Possess basic troubleshooting skills for imaging equipment.
  • Utilize proper body mechanics when assisting patients and handling equipment.
  • Adhere to radiology safety principles in all operational duties.
  • Recognize personal limitations and seek assistance when necessary.
  • Ensure effective communication regarding departmental concerns.
  • Safely transport patients to and from care areas.
  • Perform moderate and waived laboratory testing as per departmental protocols.
  • Interpret laboratory test results and take appropriate actions.
  • Maintain compliance with clinical laboratory regulations.
  • Conduct quality control checks and maintain accurate records.
  • Monitor inventory levels and request supplies as needed.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment.
  • Engage professionally with all staff and stakeholders.
  • Document information accurately for compliance purposes.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in radiologic imaging and CT.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to read and understand technical documents and instructions.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic mathematical skills for calculations related to imaging.
  • Proficient in basic computer operations.

Certifications

Must hold current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and possess relevant state licensure.
