Key Responsibilities- Perform welding repairs on mining equipment such as loaders, bulldozers, conveyors, and other heavy machinery.
- Fabricate and assemble metal components based on specifications and drawings.
- Inspect, assess, and diagnose equipment issues to determine necessary repairs.
- Ensure all welding meets company standards and industry codes.
- Use various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, Stick, and Arc welding, based on the repair needs.
- Maintain and operate welding tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure timely repairs and minimize equipment downtime.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and assist with preventative maintenance schedules.
- Work in various conditions, including outdoor and industrial settings.
- Comply with all safety protocols and procedures, ensuring a safe work environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or welding certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a welder, preferably in the mining or heavy equipment industry.
- Proficiency in welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, Stick, and Arc welding.
- Familiarity with reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Strong knowledge of metallurgy and welding procedures specific to heavy equipment repair.
- Ability to use welding and cutting equipment, grinders, and other related tools.
- Physically capable of lifting heavy objects and working in confined spaces.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
