- Medication Management: Administer psychotropic medications and monitor patients' responses to treatment, ensuring adherence to prescribed regimens.
- Environmental Modifications: Identify and remove environmental triggers that may exacerbate patients' conditions, promoting a safe and therapeutic environment.
- Behavioral Support: Provide emotional support and crisis intervention to patients experiencing acute distress, utilizing de-escalation techniques and crisis management strategies.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of patients' health journeys, reporting notable changes and progress to healthcare teams.
- Education and Support: Offer targeted psychoeducation to patients and their families, promoting understanding and empowerment in managing mental health conditions.
- Education and Licensure: Graduate of an accredited nursing program, BSN preferred; valid RN license required (where applicable).
- Certifications and Training: BLS (AHA) certification, CPI certification, and CPR training.
- Experience and Skills: One to three years of experience as an RN in a psychiatric or substance abuse setting, with knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing processes, therapeutic relationships, and age-specific growth and development.
- Personal Qualities: Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, superb verbal and written communication skills, resilience, empathy, and a strong commitment to patient-centered care.
