As a Locksmith for GE Aerospace, you will be responsible for securing job assignments and partial instructions for diverse work, conventional facilities, and materials. You will interpret sequence of operation, use tools and facilities, and install, service, and repair locks for doors, desks, files, cabinets, etc.
You will also repair and refit worn or damaged doors, install service and repair panic bars, door stops, and door closers. Additionally, you will clean, repair, modify, and adjust gages, indicators, "mikes", and gas regulators.
Other responsibilities include modifying and testing regulators for special applications, making up hoses for air and gas applications, and opening defective combination locks on safes and repairing as required. You will also change safe combinations as requested by the security office.
You will work from drawings, sketches, and other instructions to perform machining operations such as mill, turn, face, bore, groove, contour, dovetail, drill, tap, etc. to precise electrical and mechanical tolerances.
You will keep records of doors, keys, etc. including having pictures taken or making sketches of modified locks as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:- Install, service, and repair locks for doors, desks, files, cabinets, etc.

- Keep records of doors, keys, etc.
- Associate's Degree in Machining Discipline OR High School Diploma/GED with a Military Manufacturing Training Course OR High School Diploma/GED with 5 years of machining experience
- Journeyman's card with completion of an Industrial Trades apprentice program
- Must be able to obtain Department of Defense (DOD) clearance
- Ability and willingness to work off shifts and weekends
- Ability, with or without accommodation, to lift/push/pull at least 50 pounds
- Must pass physical, background, and drug screens
- Ability and willingness to wear personal protective equipment
- Ability and willingness to take a pre-employment test and submit to technical interview
- Must be 18 years or older
- Legal authorization to work in the US is required
